HIGH PASSES TREK FROM STOK TO LATO

Price:

This high-altitude trek from Stok village to Lato is one of Ladakh’s most striking and remote routes, designed for experienced trekkers seeking solitude, altitude, and raw Himalayan beauty. Over 8 days, the trail crosses five high mountain passes — including Matho La (4,950 m), Shang La (5,200 m), Kongmaru La (5,250 m), and Lalung La (5,300 m) — linking a series of pristine valleys, wild shepherd camps, and dramatic ridge lines.

The route weaves through deserted gorges, colorful sandstone formations, and wind-swept highlands, offering panoramic views of the Stok Kangri massif, Zanskar range, and far-off Karakorams. Wildlife sightings may include blue sheep (bharal), Himalayan marmots, and golden eagles. You'll also encounter remote nomadic settlements, reflecting Ladakh’s traditional pastoral way of life.

Camps are fully wild, often shared only with yaks or shepherds, adding to the sense of complete immersion in nature. The trek is physically demanding due to its altitude and continuous pass crossings, but it rewards you with peace, perspective, and unforgettable mountain grandeur.
