This high-altitude trek from Stok village to Lato is oneof Ladakh’s most striking and remote routes, designed for experienced trekkersseeking solitude, altitude, and raw Himalayan beauty. Over 8 days, the trailcrosses five high mountain passes — including Matho La(4,950 m), Shang La (5,200 m), Kongmaru La (5,250 m), andLalung La (5,300 m) — linking a series of pristine valleys, wildshepherd camps, and dramatic ridge lines.
The route weaves through deserted gorges, colorfulsandstone formations, and wind-swept highlands, offering panoramic viewsof the Stok Kangri massif, Zanskar range, and far-off Karakorams. Wildlifesightings may include blue sheep (bharal), Himalayan marmots, and goldeneagles. You'll also encounter remote nomadic settlements, reflectingLadakh’s traditional pastoral way of life.
